Ice Skates

this cold, blustery weather makes me desperately want to go ice skating!  I used to own a pair of skates many years ago - don't know what ever became of them.  Guess I'll need to go Goodwilling and see if I can find some.  I think I'll need size 7.5 or 8.  If you see some somewhere pick them up for me or let me know where they are - I don't really want to buy brand new ones...

Peppermint Lip Balm for sale! $2 each

I made some peppermint lip balm today and would like to make it available to anyone else who would like some.  It is all-natural and made with only a few simple ingredients.  Shea butter, beeswax, sweet almond oil, and peppermint oil in a conventional chap stick type container.  Let me know how many you want and how I can get them to you.  They make great gifts!

child's air mattress

I want to sell my IKEA air mattress. Got it on Craigslist for the grands, but it doesn't work when there's a bunch of them in high gear. They just wanna jump on it. It unfolds as a child-size air mattress or it folds in half as a "floor sofa". It has four individual air bags inside the casing. Great for the lounge, bedroom. or maybe even a classroom. I'm asking $50 which is less than what I paid. Will consider obo.

flock of chickens

We are looking to get rid of our chickens so we don't have to keep them laying over winter.  There are some old birds and also some that are still laying well.  We haven't decided how much we want for them yet so come make a deal quickly before we decide we want to butcher them! :)

Does anybody out there have one of those cute little spreaders to put  lime on your garden?? I would love to use it  some  sunny day for a couple hours...

so i have a few things floating around my house that need a new home.

small backpack - virtually new - i think i used it for bible school a while back

a cool broom hanger. i love it so much i keep it in the box =)

a small cube fridge. it also has a tiny little freezer in the one corner.

Geraniums

Winter is coming!  It's time to bring in the geraniums.  I heard of a good way to keep them for next spring without potting them and keeping them on the windowsill - pull them out, shake the dirt off the roots, and store them in a dry, cool place for the winter.  Plant them in the spring and you will have bigger, better geraniums than ever!  Maybe you knew that already, but I didn't. : )  If anyone has geraniums they don't want to bother with I'll gladly bother with them if you let me know.  I'll even give you one or two back in the spring if you want them by then. : )

Anyone need peppers?

I still have peppers in my garden.  They just don't stop growing!  green, red, banana, chili, cayenne, pepperoncinni, etc...  I also have endive that I'm giving to the chickens because it is too bitter for us.  I have lots of dill and parsley too.  Let me know if you want any and when you can come for it!

This could very possibly be the most random post you will ever see on this blog.

I have in my possession a set of authentic Amish garb (dark blue long-sleeved dress, cape, and belt apron) that I would be more than happy to loan out should such a "need" (or desire) ever arise. (Since I only wear it approximately once a year on very unique occasions.) In light of the youth group barn party planned for tomorrow evening, I presumed now to be an opportune time to inform you of its availability. :)

Bowling Pumpkins

Our youth group wants to do some pumpkin bowling at our barn social this Friday night. I would like to use cheap, ugly pumpkins for that if possible since they usually get all broken up. :) If you know of anyone that would like to get rid of seconds or thirds let me know. We don't mind paying for them it just seems wasteful to use perfectly nice ones.

Natural Body Care Products

I want to make some body scrubs, lotions, salves, etc... Since I think natural things are awesome and natural AND recycled things are better yet I am looking for castoff containers instead of going and buying a case of brand-new bottles and jars. I'm looking especially for the baby food or sampler jelly jar sizes. If you know where I could get some of these I would appreciate it. If you like what I make you could have some product in exchange for the containers. :)

Bad Weather Sale

Due to the wind and occasional showers we have our things set up inside today. If anyone wants to come and have a look at our things before tomorrow they are welcome to come inside. Mom made sloppy joe sandwiches and whoopi pies and we are also selling coffee and frappuccino. We have scads of boys' clothes - shirts, pants, jackets, etc... and, of course, some of my things and other miscellaneous items. Dad is selling his auto repair manuals out in the garage. We'd love to see you here!

Yard Sale!

We are having a yard sale on Friday and Saturday. We have lots of boys clothes - pants and shirts of all sizes and in all conditions - some are still very good! Dad is getting rid of his old auto repair manuals. We are all going through our things trying to decide what we can do without. Come see what we have - our junk might be your treasure!

Chimney Sweep

I'm curious if anybody sweeps their own chimney and has a sweep to do it with. I'm going to want to fire up my wood stove here before too long.

I'm also looking for wood to season for next year.

Parsley

I have quite a few parsley plants in my garden that I would be happy to give away. You may even dig one up to plant in a pot for fresh herbs inside over the winter.

I need jars or I'll be in a jam!

Just kidding, I'm making pepper relish but it takes the same size jars. Odd jars pint-sized or under are what I'm looking for. If you have any you'd like to get rid of call me @ 468-6203. I would like to use them tomorrow or Thursday so let me know right away and I'll come pick them up tonight yet. I am also looking for baby food jars or smaller for some of my herbal concoctions but that isn't quite as big of a rush.

Empanadas for sale!

Does anyone have hot peppers in their garden that they aren't getting used? I'll either come and get them out of your way for you or give you a recipe for some delicious pepper relish that my brother James really likes! :)

grape juicer

Our grapes will be ready next week sometime. We usually just stuff them in jars to make juice but if we could find a steam juicer to rent for a day we would love to do some that way for a thicker juice.

Looking for an Air Conditioner

I know it's kind of a stab in the dark, but does anyone have or know of someone who has an extra window unit they're not using that they'd be willing to let me use at school in the office window? I'm just about ready to go out and buy one but just thought I'd check first--just in case someone happens to have one lying around. You can call me at 808-6882.

Have a bike in your way?

I am looking for a ladies' road bike either to buy or borrow. My brothers are good at fixing bikes but said the one we have would cost as much to fix as it would to buy a used biked somewhere so... does your bike need a tune-up? :)

I'm in a pickle!!!

We have a wonderful cucumber patch that is still bearing beautifully! The problem is that we already have 140+ quarts of pickles in our cellar and most of the other ppl that picked from it have as many as they want too! I don't want to pick cucumbers to give to the chickens so if there is anyone that wants cucumbers for pickles, salads, fresh eating, whatever! just give me a call @ 468-6203 to reserve your chance to pick cucumbers! :)

We have a brand new large roll of barbed wire. We used a lot less than we thought we would need and we have LOTS remaining. We would be glad to see someone use it. Come get it and it's yours.

I need a jar of olives! :)

I'm making pasta salad for the youth party tomorrow eve and when I went to the cupboard to get a jar of olives there were none there! I don't have to have it so I'm not going to make a special trip to Wal-Mart for one jar of olives but if some generous person sees this post tonight and has a jar of olives they can spare I'd be very grateful!

I just built a chicken house for chickens that we don't even have and I got a bunch of free shingles from Dan Peachey and only used about a third of them, if anyone is building a dog house or chicken house or other small structure you can have the shingles, they are dark brown and a little roughed up but the price is right. The roof I made was about 64 sq. ft. so there is probably about one square (100 square ft.) left.

Also I have a Paslode framing nailer and stapler that don't get enough use and I would be glad to loan them to anyone from church that needs them for a home project or whatever.

We also have a good bike rack that goes into a hitch receiver that we would gladly let our friends use if you need one- holds four bikes.

Herbs!

I have lots of cilantro in my garden and would be happy to share it! I just cut a bunch and made a pesto with it to freeze and use later once my tomatoes are ripe. I also have lots of dill right now.

I would like to buy a lawn chair, a tortilla press, a cool wall clock, and some outdoor rope lighting. If anyone has any of these items they would like to sell to me let me know!
